I just picked up a 1980? evinrude 35 longshaft model# E35ELCSM for free off a buddy. Im having trouble finding controls and battery hook ups for it and have gotten many of my questions answered here just by looking them up so i figured this is the place to go. Ive only had tiller outboards with pull starts so im new to the fancy stuff. I guess my question is where can i find these controls and electrical components with a good explination of installation? ive been surfing the internet for hours and cant find good pictures or schematics. Are there any good service manuals that have hte controls in them? or should i just suck it up and go to the local marine store and pay thier rediculous prices? I know my questions are kind of vague but any help is greatly appreciated
