I am using an after market ignition switch and I need to know how to wire it. When I wired it the motor started fine but it would not shut off. There are three wires from the switch (batt, sol, and ign.) can you help me?

Re: 35hp wiring problem

Modern ourboards don't remove power from the ignition, they ground a kill wire. That's why you'll need to go and get an OEM ignition switch. It'll have a few extra terminals on it. One for ground, one for the kill wire and one for the choke.

Chris............
