3hp evinrude 1960's weedless gearcase of 90 deegree gearcase

i have a 3hp evinrude from 1960's and im wondering wether the 90degree gearcase would get more performance out of the motor than a weedless gearcase. anyone know? <br /><br />Thanks Tom

There was a sailboat version that had a right angle drive. It pushes well but I think the weedless may be quicker. Now we're talking about a whopping 3Hp here, so the difference is probably 1/4 to 1/2 mph.
