I need to seal up a few things on my ride....
I am going to use the 3M 5200 per the peeps on these forums..

Then, I noticed the description on the stuff. Straight from West Marine's site:
Goes on smoothly, won’t sag, and remains workable up to four hours. Cures in 5–7 days with no shrinking.

Does this mean I will not be able to put my boat on the water for 57 days after application?

Thanks!!!!!!

I need to seal up a few things on my ride....

If I may ask... What "things" are you sealing ?

Are you talking complete removal of something .. or just kinda caulking around things.

OH..and 5200 Will sag and run and drip and create a mess lol..

5200 Fast cure is better for non sag.

YD.

Thanks! I am sealing my drain plug sleeve(on the outside/inside/and of course on the sleeve itself, and some other old holes on transom from transducer, pitot, etc... I have a built-in ice chest that has about a dime sized hole in one of the corners- I'll be using Marine Tex for that.

I don;t want to get off topic, but since you asked and I'm thinking now, when I am removing old screws that are rusted, or jsut want to make sure they are sealed(no of knowing if the last owner did it right or not), what is the best stuff to use? Tex the holes, then drill through and use new galvanized screws when it dries or?
