I'm trying to get a little info on swapping to an Edlebrock 4bbl with a new manifold. Short of finding an OEM cast iron manifold and puttin an adapter on to fit the new cab, the option seems to be an aluminum performer series manifold.
The OEM cast manifold, in almost every case I've seen is almost as much if not more than a brand new aluminum manifold. Also what I've found is that although there are marine carbs, I can't find marine specific aluminum manifolds.
I use the boat primarily in fresh water, but occasionally will go in brackish water. I know that salt is a death warrant to aluminum so... I need some input. What are my options? Are there any anodes or anything that can help with this or do I just have to consider (if I do swap) the manifold to be a consumable part every few years?
Help

Forgot to mention that I'm wanting to swap because my 2bbl manifold is looking pretty crummy as is, and want to change before a problem presents itself and figured why not try to gain the extra 20hp and a brand new carb (avoiding a rebuild for a few years) while in there

Most pure Marine aluminum manifolds have brass cast first in the water crossover and a few slugs at the rear blockoffs. However their are also epoxy coatings such as enecon that will protect the aluminum from brackish or salt water induced dielectric corrosion.

Other than that item, any aluminum manifold will work for fresh water use (or fresh water cooled)

Ayuh,... Michigan Motors, 'n others offer the cast iron manifold, 'n no adapter is needed with the Edlebrock carb, as it bolts to either pattern,....
