I have '99 4.3 gm vortec that I'm trying to prep to replace the cracked '86 4.3.
So far, everything seems to have swapped well.

Now I'm at the stage regarding the flywheel, engine coupler, bellhousing, and distributor. Both flywheels are 14" but different bolt patterns. I have to use the '99 flywheel.. The engine coupler is off the '86 and won't work.. I know I need a different coupler, but don't know if it will clear the bell housing as it attaches to the flywheel.. (triangle type).. If I have to get another bellhousing, will the motor mount holes be out of line?
Regarding the distributor, I'm using the wire harness from the '86, so the distributor should work..

Just one other thing can the water pumps run in either direction, and work..
I did notice that the impeller from my old one just has straight vanes..

Thanking you in advance...... What a GREAT site ! ! !

Isn't an '86 a non-roller cam? If so, you will need to replace the gear on the distributor, if you want to to reuse it.
