4.3 GL to GXI conversion

Hi,

Someone offered me a complete vp 4.3 GXI-E engine (without the crankcase). The engine only ran for 20hrs (new) and then failed because of a lubrication failure. The engine was replaced under warranty. All electrical, cooling, fuel, intake and exhaust parts are included. All only 20hrs old. They sell it for $850. This seems a very good price.

Would it be worth the effort to do this conversion from GL to GXI and is it even possible?

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,... If they're the exact same Vintage, it should swap over,...

The 4.3l motor has gone through several changes over the years,...

Whether it's Worth it is entirely yer decision,...

My engine is 98 and this GXI i dont know exactly but much more recent. I gues there are to much differences.

Ayuh,... I Donno,... Don't know what Year it is,... I'm just sayin' there are differences,...

Yer motor bein' a '98 is better than if it were an '88,....

I'm going to consult a vp mechanic. If the block itself is no different then it probably is doable. Its temting for that price and almost as good as new parts. Only the exhaust manifolds, risers etc would be worth it because they get really expensive in Europe if you have to replace them.
