My gear shift is hard to shift and always grinds when trying to shift gears. I have recently had the shift cable replaced and that is when it started. I will not the engine overheated and melted the old cable. Could there have been collateral damage or is the cable just not adjusted correct? At one point I would throttle forward and it went in reverse. The shopsaid it came out of the sleeve? He is now telling me I am slow shiftting and I need to slam it in gear. Is this true? Seems I'll tear it up. Not to mention its hard to get in gear most the time. The shifter is often stiff..
