4.3 GXI started humming or whizzing noise

After running my boat for an hour my fuel pump on my 4.3 GXI started humming or whizzing noise. I'm getting some backfiring and sputtering. It wouldn't run at higher rpm's and ran fine after the engine cooled down. Got any answers. Please Help!

Ayuh,... Change the Fuel Filter, 'n inspect the contents for Water...

You have 2 fuel pumps, which one is making the noise, low pressure or high pressure.

Fuel pump diaphram broke. Mechanic is saying gas got into the oil pan trough the cylinder walls.

Fuel diaphram? 4.3GXI has 2 electric fuel pumps, no diaphrams... If gasoline is getting past your pistons you need to run a compression test
