first off, ive gain a lot of knowledge from this site, and i thank you guys here for that. you've saved me a lot of dough. now to the problem....

i have a 88 carver santego with twin 98' 4.3ltr vortecs. was out a couple of weeks ago and when i went to wot to plane off i heard a pop on the port engine, just once. everything was fine after that. 2 days later i heard it again going to wot, but perhaps 3 or 4 times. last weekend i went out it popped once, then coming back in it was multiple times going to wot. anything under 3500 rpms seems fine. doesnt stall and fires right up at the dock. it now does it all the time when i go to wot. checked the plugs and noticed the #2 plug looked like it had water on it. closer look showed it had some salt build up. i changed the intake manifold gaskets, which were leaking. changed plugs, wires, cap. started up okay, check for leaks, seemed okay. took it for a ride and the same thing happened at wot. i remembered having a similar issue with another boat i had, wound up being a bad riser. so i drained the manifold on the starboard side, took off the riser and saw a little water in the bottom of the manifold. okay mabey im finally getting somewhere. went to the port side and couldnt budge the riser. i had to cut off the rubber coupling and saw that the riser was rusted to the elbow to the "y" pipe. still couldnt get it off. i pb'ed it to death and will beat it off tomorrow. is it possible that this would cause a restriction at wot and cause a misfile? also had water in the oil, figuring the restriction might have something to do with it. thank u...
