4.3 LX - Reading RPM with Laser Tachometer Where to stick the reflective tape?

Guys,

I am in the process of tuning the carburetor and lowering the idling RPM's (currently at 1000), where is the correct spot to stick the reflective tape to measure the RPM on my engine with the laser tach? attached is a picture for your reference.

It would be on the crankshaft pulley or damper.
If the water pump pulley is the same diameter as crankshaft pulley, it could be there also

When adjusting idle, disconnect the throttle cable from the carb. Readjust the cable after idle speed is done then install

you can also do it on the inside of the crank damper pulley if you cant see the outside of the damper weight
