4.3 Merc completely dies after running full throttle for a few minutes

I have a 4.3 mercruiser from 1993.

Sometimes the boat just dies while running at WOT. It takes about 10 minutes to get it started back. Is this a fuel pump issue?

Does it just die instantly, or more like it slowly runs out of gas?
When it dies, have you checked to see if you have spark at the coil? Fuel to the carb (does the accelerator pump anything when you operate the trottle)?

Sounds kinda like a coil getting hot. Unless it is an electric fuel pump going bad.
