Just bought the boat priv. party and ran it 5 times before this started happening. Boat shops are backed up 2-3 weeks just to look at it and I think it may be the impeller. I ran a search and saw that these things get clogged pretty easily. Any suggestions as to how to diagnose it. I'm gonna run the rabbit ears on it tomorrow morning and hope it disloges what ever it may be.

Thanks

Dan

Most engines, outboard and inboard,as well as your I/O,or sterndrive...start with an impeller replacement.Once you know that, you can look at thermostats, risers, manifolds and the rest.As for clogging easy, this is new to me.
DHP

Re: 4.3 OMC Overheating

Well... I noticed on another post that if the temp exceeded 200 that there may be some damage to the piston rings. It was still staring by the time I got it to the ramp and loaded it. It was rough but it gave me enough to get it on the trailer. I am replacing the impeller tonight... I'll update on how it runs after that. Thanks...

AND thanks for the move JB... did not see this forum. :)
