Just got a thermostat kit for a 1985 4.3 mercruiser 6 cylinder with a type II housing. My old one was encrusted with stuff so I don't know what goes back where. In the kit I got a thermostat, a retainer ring, a black o-ring, an o-ringlike gasket made of what looks like cork, and three gaskets made in the shape of the housing. The three gaskets in the shape of the housing are different only by how much water they let pass. I need the order of the orings and which housing shaped ring to use.
