Can anybody please advise me of the weight of a 4.3 V6 Merc (190 hp). Please don't tell me a weight including the out drive like everyone else keeps doing to this question on other forums. I don't wish to know the out drive weight at this point. I am swapping an old Volvo AD130D 4 cyliner with the V6 Merc and I'm simply trying to establish what the weight difference will be "In the boat". I'm looking to increase a little horsepower and P*ss of the Volvo rubbish but without increasing too much weight.
Sorry if I sound frustrated, it's because I am. For some reason no one understands engine weight only and simple questions.
Cheers in advance to all you smart cookies.

Hi there BAron, welcome to iboats where we all do our best to try and keep the frustration levels down to a minimum especially with what seems to be an easy Mercruiser question as long as you know where to look.:) http://fastboats.com/mercruiser/2012...drive-4-3-tks/ https://www.mercurymarine.com/en/us/engines/inboard-and-sterndrive/compare/?e[]=561&e[]=560

Mercruiser says the 4.3l engine model comes in at 758lbs/344kg while the 4.3 MPI engine weight is 864 lbs.

  • 864 lbs / 314 kg MPI

  • 758lbs / 344kg TKS
Hope this helps, good luck.:)

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... Fun Times has got yer weights,....

You Do know that the gear ratio in that 4 cylinder drive, Ain't gonna work so well with a V6, Right,..??
Dependin' on which prop the 4 cylinder was turnin', ya might not be able to buy a prop big enough to support the V6, without regearin' the drive,...
