This boat was the one I grew up on. It sat uncovered for the last 3 years so I decided I was going to fix it up. It has a new engine in it since the last one did not get winterized properly and I can still see a nice clean fresh hone on the cylinder walls with my scope. I replaced the impeller and it is pumping water fine and runs ok with the muffs on. I took it to the lake today expecting to cruise around for a bit but when I started accelerating it makes a ticking noise. It seems to run ok for about 5 mins then when I stop and try to plane out again it only gets to about 2500 rims and stays there. Oil pressure is ok. I siphoned all the gas out of the tank and put premium in and took it out for a second time. This time it did the same thing but did seem to run a little bit better. Here are a couple videos from the last time out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ordered fuel filter and did an oil change today. Spark plugs look good but I have another set of universal plug wires I will put on tomorrow as well as check the distributor cap. Anything else anyone could think of or has anyone else ever heard that specific kind of noise on an inboard. If you listen to the video of when it's on shore and I am reving it a couple times it makes a wierd noise when the rpms are dropping. Almost like something is loose on the crankshaft.. I will have a friend out with me on. The 3rd test run so I can really listen in and determine where the general area of where it's making noise actually is.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... It sounds to me to be an exhaust leak, 'tween the head, 'n manifold,......

If ya run yer hand 'round the areas, with the motor idlin', it'll be hotter'n 'ell where the leak is from the hot gases,.....

Agreed. Check the manifold/head connections and the riser/ell connections. It certainly sounds 'unhealthy' check timing as well!
