4.3 Volvo penta

I have a blown 1993 4.3 Volvo penta, I'm very good at building motors, does anyone know what the difference is on older 4.3 vs newer ones with a supertine belts. What is the horse power difference my older one has a 4 barrel carb, what is the horse power on old vs new ones?

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,..... A 4.3l with a 4bbl. carb is 'bout 205 hp,...
The horsepower changes with the induction system used, 'n whether rated at the crankshaft, or at the prop,....

The 4.3 went through various changes over the years,...
Generally speakin', a post-'96 with the Vortec heads is the way to go,....

Donno when the serp belts came out on yer Volvo, the belts really don't matter anyways,...

The balance shaft motors happened right 'round the year of yer motor, maybe slightly later,.....
The mechanical fuel pumps went away, 'bout that time as well,....
'n of course, the Vortec heads were added in '96,...
