Port side heat riser manifold gets Very hot at times. Tracked it down to the check valve ball sticking, not allowing cool water into the riser. Cleaned the area around check valve, yet continues to stick at times. Do not know why this is happening though. May have to replace. What type of damage if any could this have done to the manifold, etc? I did notice a clacking noise recently when at idle. Also while underway, it a very distinct noise that comes and goes (like an exhaust noise) that I have no idea what is causing it. I've heard that a shutter could be damaged and/or a piece may be clogging the exhaust Y. This is very mind boggling to me! The starboard heat riser runs very cool at all times. Thanks all for any suggestions/comments!

Ayuh,... The riser/ manifold might be plugged up with crud...
Pull the riser, 'n see...

The clackin' noise is the shutter...
I imagine it got burnt up from the lack of water flow...
Probably burnt up most All of the rubber parts too...

When was the Impeller last changed,..??
