4.3L omc cobra wont start.

I just bought a 1992 Seaswirl 180se with a 4.3L omc cobra, took it out last weekend no problems ,boat ran great. I left the ignition switch on drained the battery, recharged the battery, now the boat cranks but wont start. what could I have fried by leaving the switch on?

It probably burned up the points when you left the key on. Could have burned up the coil too.

agreed, points, coil may be done. ignition fuse may have popped as well. battery may not be too good either. voltage is important, but so is amperage.

A month later and problem is fixed. Battery, fuses,and coil good. the distributor did not have points. It turned out to be a bad control module, and man that thing was more expensive than I thought it would be.
