I bought a 1987 Mercury Classic 50 45hp with an adjustable 4 blade prop.. I am puting it on a 1982 Bass Tracker 15 1/2' long. The boat it was on which was a little larger ran at 4200 rpm with the present setting. What rpm range should I run in for best longevity of the engine??

RPM at wide open throttle should be in the 5000 - 5500 rpm range. 4200 is severe lugging and will kill a two stroke.
