4 cyl 165hp

I know this is a very old thread....But,,, People are always buying used boats, such as I did. I have an '88 Wellcraft V20 IO, with the same MC 3.7 rated at 165 HP. It struggled to get on plane quickly, and top speed was only 24 MPH. I also was only able to get just over half way to Wide Open Throttle in RPM. I changed the prop from a 19 pitch, to a now 17 pitch prop and...WOW! What a huge difference. I now can get to WOT, jumps right up on plane instantly. Cruising speed is now 28, and top speed of 39 on flat lake. Boat runs much better with the 17 pitch prop powered by 3.7 165 HP.

....Im looking to convert from Points to Electronic Ignition end of the season. Anyone done this to the MC 3.7 motor?
