Re: 4 or 3 blade

Take a look at some of the instructional stuff above. The actual answer is we need to know a lot more about your boat, and we especially need performance with those props as they run on your boat. There really isn't any best prop. And there is no prop that does all things really well. Typically 4 blades have better hole shot (acceleration) and 3 blades better top speed. But that is in a perfect world with all else equal and things are never all equal. Let's start with yoiu reading the required info stuff above, and then give us as much as you can.

#1 If you know your tack is correct and your engine is in tune and both props allow the engine to reach the middle of the recomended RPM rage with average load.

You use the one you like best.
Normally the 4 blade gives a better hole shot, just about holds it own at cruise and costs you a mile or 2 per hour on top end.

That is an interesting combination of props you have there; rather far apart in their intended applications.

The Vengeance is a "general purpose" SS prop; sort of the SS equivalent of the Black Max aluminum prop.

The Trophy Plus is rather specialized; intended for bass and flats boats needing lots of bow lift. The 17" size intended for mid range motors(under 135 hp).

+1 jestor.........couldnt figure out that myself. The Trophy Plus is a great bass boat prop when you got the hp to turn it especially if ya work the prop for your boat. Now if it woulda been a Tempest and a Trophy that woulda been a little better dont ya think?
