I would say hook up to the " M " terminals.----Are the " M " terminals " open " in the run position ??

I think you will find that is the number for a 1993 model.

However your switch has one pair of normally open contacts and one pair of normally closed contacts. Check it out with a multimeter on an ohms or continuity range and choose the pair you require. I think it will be the "M" pair which will close to kill the engine.

Wire in parallel with the "M" terminals on the ignition switch. B/Y and B wires as you suggest in #3

M is for motors with Magnetos (such as 2-stroke outboards) these are open in the run position, and close to ground to kill spark

I is for motors with battery powered ignitions (such as I/O's) these are closed in the run position, and open to stop current going to the coil to kill spark

I

Check the colours of the wires on the on the M terminals .I expected one to be black/ yellow and the ground connection to be solid black

In diagrams where I have found black/white it has been the power to the primer but in others that's purple/white

On the ignition switch , usually it is a black to one M terminal.----Black / yellow stripe to the other M terminal.-----Failure to hook it up as per the correct wiring diagram can result in smoke and damage to your wallet.

Magic smoke is expensive smoke to replace
