4 stroke oil confusion ....

Just got my new 9.9 Suzuki and I'm confused what motor oil to use. Manual is recommending Oil rated SE SF SG SH or SJ ( API) but the Marine oil I got home is rated FC-W

Why the heck they make it so complicated ?!
Is regular Automotive oil OK or is the FC-W better ?

FC-W is new and (among other things) is an attempt to make it easy. Now you don't have to deal with all that SM/SJ/Sn business

You mention BOTH 4 stoke oil, AND 2 stroke oil? Is that a 2 or 4 stroke outboard (yep, its the liitle things that count .......and cost)
