what is the diff. between a 4 stroke and a two stroke? is it that you do not have to mix the gas in a 4 stroke ? i know this is a silly question thanks

The operating principles are very different, you are correct that you don't mix oil in with the gas in a 4 stroke, but you do have a sump full of oil instead. From an owners point of view that is probably the main difference, and also that the 4 stroke is likely to be more expensive to buy, more fuel efficient, and quieter.<br />You can find a good explanation of the 2 stroke principle here http://science.howstuffworks.com/two-stroke1.htm and a search on that site will find the same for a 4 stroke.

With oil injection you don't even have to add oil to the gas on 2-strokes much anymore.<br /><br />Lots of differences. This could get lengthy. But basically a 2-stroke fires every other stroke. A 4-stroke fires once in four strokes. The 2-stroke gets a shot of fresh oil with every upstroke, 4-strokes recirculate the same oil over and over again. Conventional 2-strokes are not terribly fuel efficient, but 2-strokes develop more horsepower in relation to weight.

i like my two stroke i dont think i need any more plus i am just learning on how to fix two strokes i will stick with them right paul!!!
