40 hp johnson tilt assit

I just bought a 40 hp johnson tiller handle with tilt assit. The tilt assit has quit working and engine is quiet heavy to let up and down. Can these things be repaired or replaced with new ones. Any help would be appreciated.

No, its a 97 model with a tiller handle
