Looking for a site to view a manual for a 40 hp Merc/force(1990) to help a friend put his motor back together.

You should make shure the year, model and serial number of this motor and then go to Amazon and check the manuals there.

I doubt if you will find a place on the internet that will let you download any part of a service manual. YOu can try here <br /> http://www.boatmotors.com/manuals.html <br />Might try your local library. A lot of times the larger libraries carry outboard manuals

There are no online manuals available, except for Tohatsu.<br /><br />Buy one at the bottom of this page.

You could try the library for a manual.It<br />may be generic but should serve ok.
