My trim is very sluggish going up. Goes down fairly well. I want to check the fluid. Do I do this with the motor up or down?
There are two regular screw heads under there. Can anyone briefly walk me through this?

I baught the clymer book last night and it's not in there.

The motor has to be up. The level plug is either a plastic cap or a plug just like on your gearcase. It'll be easy to see with the motor tilted. The fluid should be level with that hole when fully up. I usually give it an extra squirt.

Easy Bill....raise the engine all the way up and check the fluid level and top off if needed. Replace the fill plug a little lose and cycle the engine all the way up and down 3 to 4 times and check the level again. Top off if needed and repeat the process until the level is constant. The manual says that the reservoir needs to be level.....this can be difficult to get unless you live on a steep hill... :) Just get the nose of the boat down as far as you can.
