40 hp1963 sea king--omc?

i believe i have a 1963 40 hp sea king mtr mod#cg18805a and ser # 36x870617,can any one tell me the make of the motor and the fuel to gas ratio with the tcw3 syn 2 cycle oil.the sticker on the mtr says 24/1 of#30 oil to 6 gal gas,i dont think it should be 24/1 of the 2 cycle oil.thanks for any help

Thats an OMC the last year for Gale production.Virtually identical to the E/J motors.These motors can be run at 50:1.

Well, they can be run on 50:1, but, being a '63 it should probably be run on 24:1. OMC changed the mix spec in 1964.

do i use the tcw3 oil at24/1 or do i use #30 oil,or does it make a difference,thanks for the info

Use the TCW-3. That's one thing we can agree on.
