Gday Guys
If anyone can hope with following I would be very greatful the boat mechanic has been trying for nearly 2 days it can not be that hard or expensive surely. It is a 40hp Johnson 1995 model I had electric start fitted 4 years ago a year later the motor would cut in and out with power it is appears to me to be electrical as when it’s cut out is is quick not gradual the mechanic has replaced the carburettor could and various other things thanks for taking the time to read.

Need to do some testing.-----Post results of a compression test.----And does spark jump a gap of 3/8" or more on both leads?-----You have installed a new water pump impeller I hope.
