40HP Johnson Tilt/Trim

I recently got a 1998 Tracker boat with a Johnson 40HP on it. It has the "Touch Trim" system on it. I was wondering if anyone had any used or any ideas on how to convert to power trim. I've looked into the CMC plates, but I'm cheap , so I'm wondering if anyone has any cheaper options they've rigged up

A donor motor is your best option.-----Any one of the 2 cylinder 40 / 50 from 89 and newer.----The 3 cylinder 25 / 35 may also be an option.

Do you have any ideas on part numbers or anything like that? This is my first boat and I've had to muddle through a lot of this stuff. Thanks for the reply

You would have to provide some beer tokens for such information.-----Many parts sites on line to find those part numbers.-----Donor motors will show up for $200 or so.

Put an add in the wanted section of Craigslist. A buddy of mine picked one up for $25.00 doing that. I have also heard that the smaller of the 2 CMC units will work for a 40hp even thought they are rated for max 35hp. I guess their web site even states this.
