40hp Mariner water pump bolts

I changed out the impeller this past weekend. I managed to break about 3/4" off of one of the 2" long bolts that holds the water pump housing on. Anybody know what type of bolts these are? I know it is an M8 x 1.25 thread pitch but what type of material? A magnet will stick to it.

Some stainless materials are in fact magnetic !!----So run to your local hardware store / nut & bolt supply / TSC / Fastenall place.----Stainless is what you want.

And grease the threads with a good waterproof grease to help with removal next time.....
