My '01 40hp Merc lost its fluid. It is coming out on the side toward the transom, a tube that is part of the casting,about 3.5 inches long and open on the bottom. I can run a wire to the top of the tube and it seems to be empty. There is a short tube to the left that is sealed at the bottom.<br />I have removed the whole assembly from the engine but have not torn into it and Clymer's is not real helpful. Help please.<br />Jack
