40hp Yammy won't idle

The trusty old Yamaha 40 doesn't want to idle but it runs great at higher RPMs. No wake zone are a little tricky these days. Can any one give me tip on what to trouble shoot? Thanks, Tommy

First on the list would be to verify that it is running on all cylinders. Second, check the idle circuit of your carburetors.

Might try running some Sea Foam in fresh gas to see if it will clean out the carb's and then adjust the fuel air mixture jets out (counter-clockwise) @ 1/2 turn each if the Sea Foam doesn't clear it up before tearing into anything else.<br />Make sure your gas is fresh!
