45 hp lower unit stuck

1986 45hp

Finally got the lower unit off! The main shaft bearing pr-load pin is rusted so bad that it is frozen and will not come loose.
Have soaked it for two days, and still frozen in the main shaft.
Can I heat it ?? cut it off and drill it!

either way, I need a new pin and pre-load spring
are they available from a Merc. dealer??

The pin shows still available but spring NLA. That thing is a bear to replace and you will need a press to do it, if it fly's out under pressure its like a bullet!!! Put a little heat to it and tap it downward with a hammer to see if it will loosen.
