What would be the difference of useing a common automotive role pin instead of the OEM pin as long as the same size?<br /><br /> Droped my butter dish of parts in the yard, guess I lost it yesterday dreaming first day of spring 70degs fish just got to be bite-un. Oh well back to normal 2md day of spring spitting snow here WV <br /> Paul

What year and model number is your chrysler. I am not sure a roll pin is strong enough to do this. If the motor is not to old I can give you a link for the part you need.

Here is a link to the part. You can copy the part number down and should be able to get it from any mercury dealer. You can order it from the site but you will probably have to pay 15 bucks for shipping. This is off a newer motor but it should work on your motor. Mine is a 67 45 HP. Keep an eye on ebay. I got a lower unit there for 36 bucks complete. Some of the parts in it may be junk but there are many things in there you can use for your motor. here is the link. It is item 4 water pump stud
