Recently got a 470 without power steering I would like to upgrade to a power steering system I have found the pump and cylinder for sale used but was wondering if there is any difference on the bracket on the inside of the transom were the cylider would mount?

Ayuh,... The transom mounting should be the same,...
Of course the pump mount probably ain't... unless it's off a 470...

Re: 470 power steering help

You will also need a power steering cooler that goes into the seawater exit line from the heat exchanger, and all of the lines that go with it. IMHO your best bet is to see if you can pick up the entire p/s off of a 470, that would include pump cooler and lines. That way everything including the engine pump bracket should fit pretty well. As bond-o suggests the cylinder should be a lot less critical.

Re: 470 power steering help

I was just wondering because I belive the v8s use a different transom plate and it looks like on the one that I have for my 470 that the way the trim pump mounts to the transom plate there could be abit of a cluster there.

BTW that is what I was after a complete assembly off a 470
