470 question

my buddy has a 470 in his boat. He was asking me if a small block chev would match the bell housing bolt pattern. Anyone know?

I dont know for a fact, but I have read on a forum where they talk about using the 470 in various cars, that one bolt is slightly off, and the rest match up perfect.

If you google "h.a.m.b. 470" the first result is the forum where I read that.
