Help...I was putting along just fine at about 75% throttle and all of a sudden it felt almost like I hit a log. I looked back at the motor as soon as it happened and my idle went really high. I shifted onto neutral and the idle came back down, then tried to go back into forward and it wouldn't go. I then tried reverse, and wouldn't go. I shut motor off, waited about 10 minutes and started it up again. The motor runs fine but it won't allow me in gear. I was able to get it home and put earmuffs on and the water pump isn't pumping. Any help will be appreciated. First boat, I don't know much. Thanks, Ryan

When ever the driveshaft is turning the waterpump works.----So if it is broken above the pump you will not get any water.-----Remove lower unit to inspect it.----That part is easy to do.-----Replacing the shaft is major surgery and $$$$$ in the lower unit.

I have to concur with raceone's assessment. Sure sounds like a broker drive shaft... But it can be fixed... :thumb:
