496 MAG Exhaust Elbow Difference's

Have a guy which needs to replace the exhaust on a 496 MAG. Looking up the serial number OW618146 in shows two possibilities. The standard number is 865331A01, or the two inch rise is 865332A01. Does anyone know how to tell which one is installed, maybe the total height of one of them?

Yes just by looking at the two you will see a height difference starting closer to the base of the elbow. The taller 2 inch one is 10 1/2 inch while the standard is 8 1/2 mentioned here, https://www.hardin-marine.com/t-496_measure.aspx

Wish i could be of more help but i can tell you this, a 496 exhaust is a specail breed it is sought after by many hi performance boater's. Now as to why i dunno know..dont replace it with a 454 or 502 exhaust the engine will suffer.
