496 MAG water drain hose

I have a 496MAG Bravo III with the closed cooling system. I have recently had overheating issues. I replaced the impeller and when I tried to purge the system via the winterization pump system, only one of the green nipples popped and only the port manifold drained. I found the hose from on top of the starboard drain actuator went no where. I believe this is why the starboard mainfold did not drain. I cannot find what this is supposed to be connected to. Does anyone know?

I was told this hose is only a vent, but it is still a mystery why only one manifold drains when I pressurize the manifold drain system.

Ayuh,..... I've never seen a Merc easy-drainin' system that I'd trust to winterize a motor,.....

You'd be countin' freeze busted blocks by the ton,....

Yes, Bondo, I don't trust it either. I am going to pay for winterization. It is cheap insurance compared to a new engine.
