According to my experience in Mercruiser i would say that if the water inlet was covered by water the water pump would work.But either i have some leak or my assumption is not right ,or it sucks air from the vent hole.Water comes out normally only when the water covers the red line.Please help.(Test carried out with a drill attached to the top of the saft).
