Hello,I have a late 80's suzuki 4hp outboard,Its start's fine and will clip along nicely at anyspeed except at a slow trolling speed, also will not idle unless reved up a bit.I have cleaned the carb and the fuel lines and tank, the filter is also fine.
Anyidea's,seems to me to be a tuning problem, but I am just starting to learn about outboard's and am not sure of what to do next,I dont want to take it in for repair's as I want to learn how to do this.
Take Care
Aaron

Re: 4HP trouble

.... have you tried adjusting the air/fuel mix screw to get it to idle? .....

Re: 4HP trouble

check that you have enough ventilation at the tank, maybe you need to clean the carb again and blow out with compressed air, make sure you clean all the jets etc. , the correct setting for the air/fuel mix screw is: turn in to soft stop then outwards 1 & 1/2 full turns .......
