4hp Yamaha on 7.5' AX2 Bombard Inflatable

I am considering purchasing an early 90's 4hp Yamaha to put on a 7.5' Bombard AX2 Inflatable w/ inflatable floor. The boat weighs 28lbs., and the motor weighs ? lbs. How do I know if the boat will plane with me (175lbs) in it? Years ago I had a small Achilles w/ wooden floor boards and a 5hp Mercury that planed when I was a little lighter (160lbs), but I am not sure that the Yami has enough thrust to plane the AX2.

Not sure if this will help you but I once had an 8'6" Zodiac with a 5hp mariner that got up on plane no problem, so I would imagine you would be allright with the 4hp... just dont expect it to be a speed demon!

4hp might be a bit slow to get you on plane .... a 8hp will be perfect ....
