5.0 Cooling Manifold

I am new to this, but I will try to explain my question.

I have a 5.0 mpi mercruiser 2006 and water is leaking from the bottom of one of the cooling manifolds into the engine bay. It is freshwater cooled.

I can't see under there but I know there is a hose going down there. Is there anything else on this manifold that can leak besides the hose? Like a gasket or something. I am assuming this is the hose but I can't tell until tomorrow when I take it out, I just want to know what to be on the lookout for.

manifold drain plug maybe.a freeze crack

I am going to try and find a mirror to bring and take a look. Will report back tomorrow.

Got a decent crack on side of the exhaust manifold. Of course it wasn't just a hose!

Check your oil too. If there is water there you may also have a cracked block. SBCs usually crack just below the head on the inside of the lifter valley.

No water in the oil. Looks like it's just cracked outside only leaking water. The new manifold and gaskets should be here in the next few days. Hopefully no problems swapping it out and i am able to get it on the water this weekend.

itswink..... Do yourself a favor and get OEM gaskets much better than aftermarket ones, good luck!

I ordered an OEM manifold that comes this both gaskets, I'm only assuming the gaskets are also OEM. Will ask.

Got her swapped out. Will run tomorrow to see if it's all holding.
