I have a 2003 (maybe 2004) Volvo Penta 5.0 GXI. I have a loud squeal/whine that only happens once the normal (170ish) operating temperature has been reached. It is coming from the front of the engine, I believe I have traced it to the raw water pump. Any suggestions on what to look for from here? Does it make sense that the squeal would only occur once the thermostat opens and puts load on the pump? I cannot hear the squeal once I rev the engine up, but that could just be because it is masked by engine noise. Also, everything is cooling properly without any increase in engine temps or overheating. Thank you in advance!
