Thanks in advance for anyone who might help me finally use my little hotrod 4 Winns U17. Perhaps if I explain a bit further I might stir some knowledge. It has a 5.0 Volvo Penta EFI mated to a duoprop. Cannot get details on engine number because it has a new (10 hour) VP long block, old accessories hung on it but I dont have original engine model number.
When I bought it engine was installed but trim pump was out.
Last year almost got to use it...but tank had ethanol gellled n it. Cleaned out tank and filters, then it ran ok with mechanic. Not sure it was run under load. Starts right up, revs on trailer, no power out of the hole, runs like a top when it finally planes out.
Gotta be fuel or timing right? Problem is I can't find all the common components people talk about (spout conn to turn off advance and set base timing, diag port) pic I posted is a 2 pin connector with a shunt I found.
Im off Work for a while and would hate to miss another summer. Help?
