5.0GXI water pump question

Hi there,
I have a 2008 Larson 228 LXI with a Volvo 5.0 GXI-J. I cant find an easy way to get at the raw water pump impeller.. Its really low and I cannot fiti n the engine compartment good enough to get at it.... Any ideas? Suggestions?

hire a kid or a contortionist.
some of the hull manufacturers do really stupid things.
occasionally I have to cut a hole in the engine box bulkhead or deck to service the pump.
I dont design this stuff but I am tasked with fixing it.
there are a few hulls about that require engine removal to access pumps,starters,oilfilters and spark plugs.
but it looked nice and shiney on the show room floor.

welcome to iboats an the wonderfull world of boat repair of which I do for a living. Yes, things canbe almost impossible to get to at times, matter of fact they can sometimes be impossible to get to.
I've had a number of boats that to replace things like raw water pump impellers, starters, even tuneups, the engine had to be removed.
Poor planning by the design engineers of the boat, not the motor.

Well,, That made me feel a little better about paying someone to do it..... Not that I am ok with that But i found a guy that will do it for 160... Good deal for me. Thanks!
