5.5 Evinrude Fisherman

just purchased 5.5hp evinrude "fisherman" model. Serial No. 5302A - C358004. Anyone out there tell me what year it is, or where I can find that info? The info seems no longer avail on the evinrude.com web site. <br />Also, tho it runs, it hasn't seen the water in a few years. I'm thinking of replacing the waterpump impeller and would appreciate tips on how this is done.

Hi Max<br />your motor is a 1963. you will have to remove the power head in order to disconect the shift shaft. then it's just a matter of un-bolting the lower unit.There is a roll pin to remove near the top of the drive shaft before you disasemble the water pump. Be carefull sometimes the bolts tend to be stuck. Try the public library for an after market manual.
