What is the solution to this big deal?
The place for the clip for the dipstick tube bolt is not drilled and tapped?
The place where the bolt should go is a flat boss area that would be the place.
We are replacing the stock 1987 260 5.7 L with a 1997-2015 era Vortec 330HP engine.
All of the other brackets seem to be aligning except for this.
Has anybody ran across this?
What would be the best solution?

I think the dipstick is now a friction fit in there with some permatex

Thank you for the information.
I think bondo follows my issue best.
The problem is that the place to secure the long dipstick tube to the engine block with a loop ring clamp is not tapped out.
There is a flat place where a 1/4" hole should be.
the dipstick is installed, but the strain relief clamp is not able to be bolted to the block.
Waiting for instructions from the engine builder for proper specification to make a place to bolt the little clamp to.

Followed you completely. when I put my vortec 5.0 together 6 years ago there was no attachment to the block on the dipstick Michigan motors sent. I believe the bracket was holding Upper end of tube to cylinder head. I think I snaked mine between exh manifold and cylinder head between last two cylinders

So thanks for all the responses.
the solution is to drill and thread a 1/4" X 20 hole where there is a boss that is not drilled. Copying the old engine pattern is the solution.
The engine builder verified this can be done without causing issues.
